Chef and author
My partner in crime, this girl is my go to. Nina was a real inspiration when it came to thinking about starting 'Roxanne First'. No Sunday night is the same without a bowl of pasta and Nina, she’s the actual dream.
Nini or Tony, there are a few more.
WHO / WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
I should probably say a chef but Roger Federer is my idol. Everything relates back to tennis.
ONE THING YOU CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT?
Many things but aside from good food I would say music.
BEAUTY MUST HAVE?
My mascara! I look like a fish without it - as my eyelashes are so fair.
MOST WORN PIECE OF JEWELLERY?
My Roxanne First diamond stud and green garnet ice cream cone stud (pistachio is one of my favourite flavours).
FIRST DIAMOND MEMORY?
My Polish grandmother, Bubi and seeing her tanned jewelled hands after our holiday in the south of France. She had something on almost every finger and was one of the most elegant ladies I’ve ever met. Lots of gold, diamonds and a sapphire.
WHAT WAS THE FIRST PIECE OF JEWELLERY YOU OWNED?
A heavy bracelet made out of gold coins that used to be a whole necklace that my grandmother turned into two bracelets for my sister and I. It’s beautiful and I love it because it reminds me of her whenever I wear it and it also has a wonderful timeless style to it.
BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN?
There are no rules.
MOST USED EMOJI?
The punch, it’s good for a full-stop among, among other things.
Homemade Madagascan vanilla ice cream with hot dark chocolate sauce and toasted almond flakes - nothing beats it!
WHAT TUNE WOULD YOU REQUEST FROM A DJ?
Nneka - Shining Star (Joe Goddard remix).
Eddie The Eagle.
IF YOU COULD HAVE A SUPER POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I would like healing hands that could erase illnesses.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF?
Don’t steal that duckling.
FIRST THING YOU DO WHEN YOU WAKE UP?
Meditate for 25 minutes or go back to sleep for 25 minutes.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE REMEMBERED FOR?
Apart from winning the booker prize I would like to be remembered as someone who changed the way we eat. Not quite sure how just yet but give me time.
